Novosibirsk region is famous for its variety of terrain: plains, lowlands, and swamps, and steppes. But today it’s about Palaeolithic Parking lot “Wolf Mane”, located in 62 kilometers from the city Karagat. In 1957 archaeologists discovered this unique place. which at first took to be a huge cemetery of mammoths, but it was later revealed that this prehistoric people, who never used in their simple life stone. Scientists dug up any of a thousand skeletons of dead animals, which indicates the exceptional significance of mammoths in the area. Animal skins served as building material for homes of people of that time, bones made tools, meat from animals fed. Found the remains of animals of different ages — here and old mammoth, and young, scientists found not only the remains of mammoths, and bison, horses and other animals. Collection of stunning finds of the stone age at the present place is stored in the Institute of archaeology and Ethnography of the Academy of Sciences of Novosibirsk. In their Coffers. al-Farabi was held the solemn opening of the research Center of archaeology and Ethnology . In the framework of the state program “Cultural heritage” archaeological and ethnological science has acquired a special significance among the social Sciences and Humanities. In addition, in modern conditions requires a more in-depth and extended ethnological research of the multinational culture of the peoples of Kazakhstan. Currently in KazNU named after al – Farabi where are the major experts in the field of archeology and Ethnology. All this became the basis for opening of a research center.
The opening of this Center is one of the most important events in scientific and cultural life of the University and of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Center’s work is devoted to the study of actual problems of ancient and medieval archaeology of Kazakhstan, Ethnography, ethnic and ethno-cultural processes among the peoples of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This year the students of our Institute was fortunate to host the summer archeological practice in the National reserve Sophia of Kyiv and Vyshgorod historical and cultural reserve.
In the study area in the upper town was found a ceramic complex of the XI century. According to archaeologists, in the XI century. on the territory of 5-6 ha here were 250-300 hearths. In sectors where horns were found had been excavated fragments of ceramic products. A collection of ceramics reaches thousands of fragments and complete products. A special place deserve the finds from the brands masters, finds the ornament.
In one of the sectors was found a garbage pit with fragments of pottery. Under which it was subsequently discovered the burial of a male radnog period of the tenth century. Under the weight of the soil the lower jaw have disappeared, but all the teeth are preserved in amazingly good condition.
A significant proportion of students historians, who interned scored great successes also in the National reserve “Sophia of Kyiv”. Where did a large amount of work to establish historical facts.
